Where's Your Starting Point?

Evolutionists start in the present and work backward in an attempt to explain what happened over millions or billions of years. As you can imagine, there are numerous huge assumptions involved since the explanation is neither observable, verifiable, or repeatable.

On the other hand, creationists have the written record of what actually happened by the One who was actually there. Gen 1:1 "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." Obviously, these are two entirely different accounts of how it all started.

You see your starting point makes all the difference, and where you start is at the very core of your world view. It's not a matter of who has the facts or even which camp has the most facts; we all have the same facts! Creationists and evolutionists both study dinosaur bones, layers of rocks, changes in kinds of animals, fossils, etc. but each reaches a different conclusion about the beginning of everything we see today.

If in your world view, we are the result of chance random processes (Evolution) then your interpretation of the facts will lead you to believe that everything started with the big bang and evolved over billions of years, randomly, into our world as observed today. There was no intelligent design, there is no life beyond the grave, and humans are no different from everything else that has survived by chance. Given enough time (billions of years) anything is possible, even humans having a common ancestor with some primates.

On the other hand, if you start with the Bible, then with the same facts you find evidence of things like a world-wide flood that occurred about 4,200 years ago. That the variety of life as it exists today was created by an all-powerful being (God) who also loves us Jo 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." We have not evolved nor are we on the scene by chance.
